THERMOCAL® NEUTRALIZER

THERMOCAL NEUTRALIZER WET
APPLICATION MIXING RATE

When mixing Thermocal Neutralizer with water, make sure it has a consistency similar to paint. This will allow for longer lasting pH control. Mix at a rate of 50 lbs Thermocal Neutralizer to 5 to 7 gallons of water. If you are using a backpack sprayer you may need to mix 50 lbs to 10 gallons of water. It depends on the type of applicator you use. A thicker mix will result in better coverage. If the mix is too thin, you may have to spray an area twice to achieve adequate coverage.

When applying Thermocal Neutralizer to wooden hutches a heavy coat will adhere to the wood and not flake off. The coating will extend the life of the wooden hutch. When applying to plastic a good coverage is needed, but if the coat becomes too thick it will flake off. On a wooden calf pen 2.5 ft wide x 3 ft high x 8 ft long will require 5 to 7 lbs of Thermocal Neutralizer per pen. After the second application you will see the usage rate drop to 3 to 4 lbs because there will be a residue of Thermocal Neutralizer that remains from your previous application. There is no need to disinfect or power wash your hutches.
